Batukeshwar Dutt
Batukeshwar Dutt was also one of the Bengal Revolutionary of Indian freedom fighting movement. He was one of the well known revolutionary that threw bombs along with Baghat Singh to the Central Assembly. This Central Assembly now known as Parliament. He was also known as Dutta, Mohan and Battu. He was born in 18,November, 1910 in Khanda Ghosh village of Purba Bardman District of West Bengal. His parents Goshta Bihari Dutt and Kamini Devi. He was studied in Theoshopical High School and Prithvinath High School at Kanpur. In 1924 he met other revolutionaries such as Baghat Singh and Chandra Sekar Azad at Kanpur. He was as a member of Hindustan Republican Association [HSRA] He learned about bomb making and working in that association. Early he was as contact with Suresh Chandra Battacharya and Sachindranath Sanyal. When Kanpur was flooded in 1924 both Baghat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt formed to help flood victims. During this time he moved to Bihar and participated the parties of revolution movements. He was as well knowledge of Hindi language and helped others.
He had a leadership of revolution mass movements and also had activities against British. One of the important event of history records identified that Sukhdev and Batukeshwar decided to threw bombs to Central Legislative Assembly. But at the last minute Baghat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt planned to threw bombs there. On 8th April 1929 Baghat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw two bombs inside the Assembly from visitors gallary. These two persons shouted there as 'Inqulab Zindabad'. In this incident no death but some one injured. Baghat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt were arrested. Then Batukeshwar jailed in Andaman Cellular Jail as life sentence there. Later he was transfered from Andaman Jail to Hazaribhagh jail. For his last days he had participated Quit India Movement of Mahatma Gandhi. In the year 1937 he married Anjali Dutt. In 1942 he was arrested as for his participation of Quit India Movement. Then he was released after the Independence of 1947. During freedom movements he he was as a member of Navayuk Sangh and Navchetan Sangh [Youth Association]
Batukeshwar Dutt and Baghat Singh spent their life to the nation for the Independent India. Batukeshwar Dutt died on 20th July 1965 in the year of 54. He had a daughter named Bharti Dutt Bagchi. As the memories of Batukeshwar Dutt he said that,'During our political discussions he, like other of our comrades used to say that this is not the freedom[Swarajya] we fought for we never fought this and we wanted something different.' This is the most important memory of records. As his meory B.K.Dutt Colony in Delhi and also prime location of Sufdarjung Airport there. Dutt is mentioned as a death of 56th day of his hunger strike in 1929. But he died naturally in the year 1965 after independence. Batukeshwar Dutt sacrificed his life to the nation for the freedom. Every Indians salute their respect to such freedom fighters for their participation. History records never forget this memories. 'Inquilab Zindabad -Hindustan Zindabad'.
