We all of us know the social worker -social reformer also a freedom fighter in our Indian history Sister Nivedita is that person for every one to know. She was born in Ireland on 1867 October 28. She was an intelligent and bold in her early life. After the death of her father She came to London and start a education Institute. Margaret is her early name. One day her friend inform that Swamy Vivekananda from India came to London and make a speech there. To known this information Margaret had great eager to go there and heard the speech of Swamy Vivekananda. She decided that she would be at the behind of Vivekananda, Then she had great friendship with Swamy Vivekananda. And then she came to India and serve the Indian people with her guru Vivekananda.
Swamy Vivekananda and Sister Nivedita-
Sister Nivedita became elect Swamy Vivekananda as guru in her future life. Swamy Vivekananda accepted her desire and continued with him on 29.3.1898 onwards. Vivekananda named her as Nivedita . Margaret became Nivedita there after. Nivedita also good friendship with Sarada Devi the wife of Ramakrishna. At that time plaque disease covered Kolkatta in many places. This is a second time attack. So many people died due to this disease. Many people fear about this disease. Sister Nivedita gave her hands with Swamy Vivekananda and help the poor people for cure this disease. Also she helped the people to go to street to street also home to home and made her great help. She had keen interest and also speed to help other persons for cure in disease.
Rabindranath Tagore and Nivedita-
Bengal poet Rabinranath Tagore had friendship with Nivedita. They discussed about education system and school activities at that time. Rabindranath Tagore had great desire to educate English language in schools. But Nivedita refused the guidance of Rabindranath Tagore. She said that mother language is best other languages are next. But at the same time these two leaders had good friendship.
Jagadish Chandrabose and Nivedita-
Sister Nivedita had good friendship with the great scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose. British Government refused and banned the experiments of Jagadish Chandra Bose. But Sister Nivedita gave full support to Jagadish Chandra Bose to make his discoveries. She asked foreign scientists to help Jagadish Chandra Bose. American and London scientists helped for him. Sister Nivedita import the experiment tools from London to help Jagadish Chandra Bose. Jagadish Chandra Bose discovered that plants and even stones had life in earth. But his experiments did not approved by the British Government. So that his discoveries denied. But after the English Government gave him as honorable award -SIR- to Jagadish Chandra Bose. These are memorable incidents.
Subramanya Bharathi and Sister Nivedita-
On 1905 September the Indian National Congress Conference held at Kasi. Tamil poet Subramanya Bharathi invited by the Congress party. Bharathi participated this party. Sister Nivedita also invited and she also participated this conference. After this conference Bharathi met Nivedita in Dumdum city near Kolkatta. These two leaders discussed about our freedom and our nation. After that Bharathi inspired her all activities and gave respect her freedom movements. Bharathi published his first poet edition Swadesha Geethangal on 1908 January and submit his respect to Sister Nivedita. On 1909 Bharathi published his second edition on Swadesha Geethangal named as Jenma Bhoomi also submit his respect to Sister Nivedita. On 1910 February Bharathi published his Gnana Ratham edition in Puduchery was submit his respect to Sister Nivedita. Also on 1910 November he published his third poet edition named Suya Sarithai also submit to Sister Nivedita. So Bharathi gave respect and great obidient to Sister Nivedita many more.
Political career of Nivedita-
After the death of Swamy Vivekananda on 2.7.1902 Nivedita directly involved political activities. 1905 and 1906 she participated Congress conference at Kasi near Kolkatta. She was keen interest to start Geetha society, Don society, Anujeevan Samithi and Vivekananda Sangam in all over India. Also she had good friendship with Aravinthar. These two persons discussed about our freedom and about our nation. On 1904 she had a speak with students at Patna. She quote about our freedom and Nationalism. She spoke against Britishers movement. She always thought about the freedom of our country. On 13.10.1911 at the age of 43 Sister Nivedita died. We always remember that Irish lady and her Indian culture movements. Give our respect and salute to Sister Nivedita.
