Freedom fighting movements in Tamilnadu most of the leaders sacrifice
their life to the nation. Pasumpon.U.Muthuramaling Thevar was one of that leader for this struggle events against British Government. He was born on 30th October 1908 in the place Pasumpon. He was born in rich family.His father Ukkirapandia Thevar. His mother Indirani. He was studied in Kamuthi for his elementary education. Then he studied Higher Secondary in Pasumalai School at Madurai and also Ramanathapuram. He was brilliant in Tamil and English both languages. Also more talent in horse riding, rifle shooting, astrology and also medical events. He was involved struggle events against British Government. He was a revolutionary person against Britishers. He was arrested many times by Britishers. His speeches were just like Bal Gangathar Tilak of great leader. His speeches were inspired by K.Kamarajar and Annadurai and also other peoples. Kamaraj appreciated Muthuramalinga Thevar for his political events during that time.
Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar had great contact with Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose during that time. Nethaji was the Guru of Muthuramalinga Thevar. In the year 1939 September 6, Nethaji visited Madurai for the assignment of Indian National Army and Thevar involved that movement with many other youth persons in Madurai. Also Thevar published a weekly magazine named 'Nethaji' at that time. He was also appreciated by Annadurai for his speeches of politics and struggled moments there. During Assembly Election of Tamilnadu Thevar defeated Shanmuga Rajeshwar Sethupathy in Ramanathapuram in the year 1937. Also he was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly in the year 1946. In the year 1952 and 1957 he was as the MLA and MP for his achievements. In the events of Entering Meenatchi Amman Temple in July 8 the year of 1939 was his important event in his political carrier. The support with farmers against the government was another achievement. He involved for land purpose actives in 31 villages for their individual records.
With the help of P.Jeevanandham he involved revolution moment of labor association at Madurai. During freedom fighting movements he was arrested and jailed in many places such as Chennai, Vellure, Amaravathi and Calcutta. Muthuramalinga Thevar spent his life days about 4000 days in prison life. He was also gave his respect to Buddhist Monks during his Burma visit in the year 1936 and 1955. On 1956 February 8 he met another General Election in his political life. In this election Thevar elected as a Member of Parliament in Aruppukkottai Member of Leslative Assembly in Muthukulathur. He was a unmarried man and sacrificed his life for humanity. He lived as like Vivekanada, like Netaji, like Karna and also like Paramahamsa. He was died in 1936 October 30. Tamilnadu history never forget the memories of Thevar. Indian history gave response for his confident to the nation. Gave our respect to this leader for his response and courage.
