Sukhdev


Freedom fighting movements in Indian history Sukhdev played a major role in revolutionary against British Government. His full name Sukhdev Thapar. He was born on 15th May 1907 in Ludhiana Panjab. His father Ramlal and his mother Ralli Devi. His brother Mathuradas Thapar. He was studied in National College Lahore. During his child hood he had keen interest and involved revolutionary against British rule. He was the member of Hindustan Republican Association. Also as a leader of this association Panjab and areas of North India. Sukhdev joined Naujawan Bharat Seva in the year 1926 with his close friend Bhagat Singh. During his college studies he had been also studied Russian Revolution movements. So that he thought about moments of revolutionary. He decided to involve the freedom movements in Indian political events. In the year 1928 Lala Lajpat Rai beaten by British Police Officer James Scott. Lajpat Rai heavily injured. Sukhdev and other revolutionaries had angry for this event. He and his friends decided to kill that officer for their involvements of freedom struggle movements. 


Sukhdev was the active revolutionary. His activities like Prison Hunger Strike in the year 1929. In the year 1928 Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were decided to assasinate the Deputy  Superindent of Police J.P.Saundars. In this activities they were killed Assistant Superindent of Police in a case a mistaken identify. So British Government captured this persons and arrested. All these three revolutionaries sentenced to death by hanging in prison. During this time Sukhdev wrote a letter to Mahatma Gandhi for revolution and freedom movements in India. Before some days Sukhdev wrote a letter to Gandhi,'The three prisoners of the Lahore conspiracy case have been awarded capital punishment. The country will not gain as much by the change of their sentences as it would by their hanged' These letter was the important event during that time. On the date of 7, October 1930 Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev sentenced to death by hanging. Three friends in one moment sacrificed their life to the nation. 


After the death of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev the bodies were not hand over to their relations. This incident reflected law and order in political actions that time. The bodies were disposed off by cutting into pieces and burning with kerosene. Then put them to Sutluj river. These miracle events were not accepted by whole nation. Political leaders and peoples gave their sad and sacrifice moments for their courage and confidence. In history records we have to see -Martyrs Day-Shaheedi Diwas-March 23-1931. All of us gave our salute to all these three youngsters. Inqulab Sindabad-Hindustan Sindabad.
