K.KAMARAJAR


K.Kamraj was one of the greatest politician after Indian Independent. After 1950 the republic India made its democracy by political leaders in Indian economy. In that democracy Kamaraj participated  and making government by his leading capacity. Jawaharlal Nehru Lal Bahadhur Sastri and more leaders led by Kamaraj in politics. So that he was known as King Maker in Indian history. He liked and loved Mahatma Gandhi because of his simplicity. He was also simple and honest person. He had conversation with all leaders of Indian politics. He participated the government for his brilliant joining in Congress government. K. Kamaraj was the second Chief Minister of Madras State in the period of 1954 to 1963. He was the powerful politician and full time worker in politics.


Early life of Kamaraj- .Kamaraj was born on July 15,1903 at Virudhunagar. His parents were Kumarasamy and Sivagami Ammaiar. He had a sister with Nagammal. His father was merchant. In 1907 he joined the school named Yenadhi Narayana Salai but after one year he joined Viruduppatti high school. But at this time his father died so that he dropped the school life in the year 1914. Though Kamaraj had keen interest in politics since childhood.When he was the age of 16 he joined the Indian National Congress and made his involvement. Also collect funds for Congress Party in the year 1930. Also Kamaraj participated Salt Sathyagraha with Rajaji. He was also participated many occasions.

Politics- In Indian politics he had major roll for his participation. He was the President of Indian National Congress two times ,1964-1967. Also he was the Member of Parliment, Loksabha during 1952-1954. Indian Home Rule Movement and Jallianwallabagh  Massacre are the turning point of his life as his history. He was eager to meet Mahatma Gandhi being visited at Madurai on 21 September 1921. In 1923-1925 he participated Nagpur Flag Sathyagraha and 1927 Neil Statue Sathyagraha. Kamaraj went to jail for two years. In June 1930 for participating Salt Sathyagraha at Vedaranyam with Rajagopalachari. Kamaraj again arrested in 1932 jailing one year of his activities of freedom fighting activities. So Kamaraj had full involvement in freedom fighting activities at these time.


At the duration of Second World War he conducted vigorous compaign and collected funds. In the year 1940 December he then arrested for the war funds at Guntur and sent to Vellore Central Prison. Then he released. In 1942 Kamaraj attended the All India Congress Committee to made his participation at Quit Indian Movement. He was then arrested 1942 and jailed for three years. He was released 1945 June. During his life he was jailed six times for Britishers about more than 3000 days there.  

Achievements- He was the first Chief Minister to provide free meals and education to people. He was the close friend of Jawaharlal Nehru and he appointed Nehru as first Prime Minister of India. He was called as King Maker. Because he played a crucial role to appointment of Indias two Prime Ministers. Lal Bahadhur Sastri in the year 1964 and again Indira Gandhi in the year 1966. Kamaraj made a decession of free meals in the year 1954. This is great event of his life of political career. Due to his selfless service of the good of the poor to society. So government of India awarded him to Bharat Ratna Award in the year 1976.Highest Civilian Award to Kamaraj for his hard work to Indian politics. 



During the period of Chief Minister in his career the education rate were merely rose 7 percent to 37 percent with opening of schools and reforms. Irrigation and industry made its achievements strongly. So every Indian proud of Kamaraj. Every Tamil people too much proud of this Black Gandhi of South India. Gave Great Salute to Kamaraj.
