SURYA SEN



Surya Sen was the freedom fighter against British rule for Indian Independence. He was the leader of revolutionary in the year of 1930. During this period he led and gathered many Indians and fought against Britishers in many places of Chittagong and Bengal. In his early life he was born on 22 March 1894 in Chittagong. His father Ramaniranjan Sen and his mother Shashibala. In his school life he learned freedom moment with his teachers. In the year 1916 he was a student of B.A.in Behrampore college. After completed his college life he was became a teacher of National School Nandankanan.He learned freedom moments in his young age. Also he teaches freedom struggle for his students. He was also a member of Indian National Congress at that time. In the year 1918 he was elected as a President of Indian National Congress for Chittagong branch. He was the leader of non co-operative moment and had a group with his activities. He was in prison for two years for his revolutionary moment in the year 1926 to 1928. He was always said about Humanism. It means philasaphical stance that emphasis the polential and agency of human beings. 


In 1920 he was the leader of revolutionary and had him with equipments against fighting for Britishers. A group of members involved to co-operate at this revolutionary. Even he convinced a secret of Guerilla method of fighting. He formed a team for revolutionary, such like Ganesh Gosh, Lokanath Bal, Naresh Roy, Sasanka Datta, Arthendu Dastidar and also female revolutionary named Pritilata Weddedar also. At first the team aimed to destroy the telegraph and telephone office. Also cutting of rail and communication lines of Chittagong. At the date of 18 April 1930 the revolutionaries successful in cutting telephone and telegraph wires and disturbing the movement of trains. However April 18, 1930 was the day of Good Friday. At that day was the government holiday. For use this day for their movement for freedom struggle. Surya Sen took a military salute, and hoisted our National Flag and proclaimed Revolutionary Government. This an important event of our history records. Because our National Flag hoisted there but India was not an Independence country at that time. So we are all proud of Surya Sen and his team. But soon they were arrested. 


They ware took shelter in Jalabad hills near Chittagong, on 22 April 1930. Also surrounded by thousands of troops and gunfight followed. In this war 80 troops and 18 revolutionaries were killed. Surya Sen and others hide and lived in some places. Some of them arrested for this events. Surya Sen hide in his relative house named Netra Sen. But Netra Sen informed Britishers for the hide place of Surya Sen. So Britishers captured Surya Sen on 16 February 1933 and arrested. He and his revolutionary friend Tarakeshwar Destidar were hanged by Britishers on 12, January 1934. He wrote last letter to his friends. In this letter-'Death is knocking at my door. My mind is flying away towards eternity. At such a pleasant, at such a grave, at such a solemn movement, what shall I behind you? Only one thing that is my dream, a golden dream-the dream of free India.' Never forget the date 18th April 1930, the day of the eastern Rebellion in Chittagong. He wrote this letter in red ink. 


Crore of our hearts our patriots who had sacrificed their lives of our India's freedom. Surya Sen was an idealistic and brave young man. We are all proud of that talent person in our freedom moments. He already hoisted the National Flag even India not in Independence of the date of 18 April 1930. So we are all proud of his courage and eager about our freedom. Gave salute to Indian Flag and gave salute to Surya Sen. Jai Hind!...Vande Matharam....
