Leela Roy was one of the freedom fighter fought against British Government in freedom struggle movements. She was a lady freedom fighter in the list freedom history. She was also known as Leelaboti Roy or Leela Naag. She was a Bengal revolutionary. She was born in 2nd October 1900 in Goalpara Assam. Her father Girish Chandra Naag. In her early life she was studied in Bethune College Calcutta. She had completed her graduate in college studies and had good influent in English language. She was a brilliant in her studies of Dhaka University. She had conducted the womens groups and tought about freedom in her young age. The name Deepali Sangh was her group that gathered large number of womens. She formed this group in the year 1923. Rabundranath Tagore also attended this Deepali Sangha and gave his support to this group. Leela Roy was the person who had a social work about the eduction of girls and grow their education skills in the country. She started the girls schools in Dhaka. So she was defined as a social reformer in records. 


She encouraged the skills of girls in the social movements. Revolution movements started his life during her college carrier. She was also a bold revolutionary that make bombs and how to use weapons. In 1926 she started 'Shree Sanga'-one of the revolution movement as the weapon user. She was the first woman to enter the nucleus of a former all male revolutionary party in Dhaka. This is an important event of Indian freedom movements. She was also had a contact with Subash Chandra Bose. in 1921 in Bengal floods and donated many donations to Nethaji for her participation as the relief actions. She also conducted other groups such as 'Deepali Chatri Sangha' and 'Mahila Atma Raksha fund' In the year 1931 Leela Roy published the monthly magazine 'Jayasree' and run the magazine with ladies only. This is also an important event of history records. Many blessings to Leela Roy like Rabindranath Tagore and more leaders of her journal career. In Deepali Sangha the compact contact by another freedom fighter Pratilata Weddedar. Pratilata Weddedar was an important freedom fighter that shoot the police officer of British Government. Then she swallowed cyanide. 


Also the Civil Disopedience Movement that conducted by Mahatma Gandhi she gathered all ladies to participate that movement. In her life carrier she married Anil Chandra Roy. Leela Roy alone with other  founder member of Samaj Sebi Sagha in the year 1946. In the year 1931 and 1937 she was in the jail because of her activities against British Government. In 1942 she was arrested again for her activities of Magazine publishing. Also she met Mahatma Gandhi and supported her action to the nation. In Nokhali she rescued 400 women as a relief action. Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose memorised her political actions and described her as ,'Rani Jhansi'.  In the year 1947 she founded the 'Jata Mahila Sanghati' a womens organisation in West Bengal. In 1960 she was the Chair woman of Forward  Bloc. Leela Roys memories are as the letters that focused her political performences. She was died in June 1970 due to her illness. History records shining for this lady freedom fighter. Gave our response salute to this important freedom fighter.
