 Queen Tarabai


In Maratha Empire Queen Tarabai was the great empress and also the powerful person of this kingdom. She was the daughter in law of famous and also most powerful emperor of Chatrapati Shivaji. Chatrapati Shivaji ruled Maratha kingdom with his effective and forced activities during his life time.Such like that Queen Tarabai  also ruled Maratha kingdom with force and also as an effective during her heavy involved actions and as a powerful Queen in history records. Chatrapati Shivaji also called as Shivaji Bhonsale and he was as the ruler and a member of the Bhonse Maratha Clan. In this Maratha clan Rajaram Bhonsle was the second son of Maratha Emperor Chatrapati Shivaji and also the younger brother of Sambhaji. Also Rajaram Bhosle was the third Chatrapati ofMaratha Kingdom. After the death of Rajaram Bhosle Queen Tarabai ruled the kingdom and faced more difficulties of Mughal Emperors. She was also the daughter of Prataprao Gujar also as a Senapati of Chatrapati Shivaji's army. After the death of her father she married the second son of Chtrapati Shivaji. Soyabai was one of the eight wives of Shivaji and also mother of Rajaram. 

 

After the death of Rajaram Bonsle Tarabai crowned her son as the emperor and she became the Empress of Maratha Empire. During the power of her kingdom The Moghul Emperor Aurangazeb as a tough opposition against Maratha Empire. So Tarabai faced many more difficulties by Mughal ruling. Aurangazeb the Mughal Emperor forced with his army in  Panhala and Vishalghar. In this war Tarabai had a serious and tough fight with Aurangazeb. But her great influence she defeated Mughals and captured her forts. For this victories Aurangazeb died with depression. After this war the power of Tarabai grew and she had the powerful leader of that region. This was happened in the year 1705. After the death of Aurangazeb Tarabai established her rule over Southern Karnataka and also she became the Great ruler of Maratha. During this war she had full support of Dhanaji Jadhav and Paras Ram Timbak. Also she had been proceed her power of distant places such as Malwa and Gujarat. So now Maratha Kingdom was very strong in rule by Queen Tarabai. 


So now Maratha Empire very strong in the Indian sub continent. But after in the Maratha kingdom Rajaram and Sambaji quarreled each other as for the ruling in the kingdom. In that situation Tarabai and her son imprisoned by Sambaji. But after she was relieved from kingdom activities and went to live in Safara without any political power. In 1726 Chatrapati Shahu became the ruler. He was the fifth ruler of Maratha Empire also son of Sambaji. After the death of Sambaji in 1749 the Rajaram [second] became the ruler while Tarabai as with him. After many days the kingdom faced many activities that had been not success for Maratha kingdom. But Tarabai faced many activities and solved their with the power of her talent.She remains one of the most celebrated woman in Indian history. Chatrapati Shivaji as the great ruler such like Queen Tarabai as top most ruler of Maratha kingdom.

Puli Thevar Puli Thevar was the earlier freedom fighter in our Indian history. He was a tamil palayakkarar who ruled Nerkkattumseval in the Sankarankoil taluk-Tirunelveli. Maruthu Pandiyar

Maruthu Pandiyar Maruthu brothers are earliest freedom fighters against Britishers in our Indian history. Maruthu brothers born in Mukkulam village in Virudhunagar district. Older brother Periya Maruthu born on 15 December 1748 and elder brother Chinna Maruthu born on 1753. The parents of Maruthu brothers are Udhayam Servai and Ponnathal. Maruthu brothers joined as soldiers in the army of Muthuvaduganathar-king of Sivagangai. These two brothers had more skills in army training. After the attack of Ramanathapuram, Arcot Nawab and Britishers were making his attack to Kalayaarkoil. In this attack Muthuvaduganathar killed. Wife of Muthuvaduganathar, Velu Nachiyar and Maruthu Pandiyar escaped from Kalayaarkoil and lived Virupachi near Didigul.  On 1779 Velu Nachiyar and Maruthu brothers defeated Britishers and 1980 Velu Nachiyar became the ruler of Sivagangai. Velu Nachiyar Velu Nachiyar was a queen of Sivaganga estate in South India. She is regarded as the first queen who fought against the British colonial power in India. She was born on 3 January 1730. Her parents Muthathal Nachiyar and Chellamuthu Sethupathy. She took training in handling weapons, in martial arts, horse riding and archery. She had brilliant language skill in English,French,Urdu. At the age of 16 she married Muthuvaduganathur Udaiyathevar. Nachiyar and Muthuvaduganathur Udaiathevar had a daughter named Vellachi. After the British soldiers and son of Nawab of Arcot conquered Sivagangai and killed her husband. She fled with daughter and lived at Virupachi some days.  At Virupachi she had lived under protection of Palayakkarar Kopaala Nayakkar.
