Jhalkari Bai Jhalkari Bai was a legendary dalit woman warrior who played a crucial role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 during the battle of Jhansi in the womans army of queen Rani Lakshmibai. She was born in dalit family and grew up to became a soldier and also Lakshmibais adviser.Jhalkari Bai was born on 22nd November 1830 in Bhojla village. Her father Sadoba Singh and mother Jamuna Devi. At very young age she trained to use weapons, ride a horse and fight like a warrior. The revolt of 1857 figurs in a major way in the narratives of popular dalit histories and the life of Jhalkari Bai as well. The Indian Rebellion of 1857 has been in many ways held as the first challenging revolt against the British rule in India. She married Puran Singh a soldier from the artillery unit of Rani Lakshmibais army. In the queen Rani Lakshmibais army she quickly rose in the ranks and bagan commanding her own army. Rani Avanti Bai Freedom fighters in our Indian history Avanti Bai is one of the lady freedom fighter against the British government. She was born on August 16-1831 in village Mankekani in Seoni district. She was an unknown freedom fighter. Veerangana Avanti Bao Lodhi is still giving inspiration for the creation,bravery,sacrifice and patriotism of nation as a heroin. In her childhood she had learned to do fensing and horse back riding. Father Jujhar Singh decided his daughter Avanti Bai as a prince of the Ramgarh pricely state of Lodhi Rajputs district Mandia. As unwell in the wake of her husband Vikramaditya she took the state work and introduced her ability and shook the British quarrels.At this time Lord Dalhousie was the Governor General of British Raj in India. Tantia Tope A General in the Indian Rebellion -He is Tantia Tope. He was born Ramachandra Panduranga to a Maratha family and took title Tope. Tope meaning commanding officer Tantia meant Genaral. On 5 June 1857 Nana Sahib became the leader of rebells. British forces surrended on 25 June 1857 but massacred. Nana Sahib was declared as Peshwa. But British forces defeated the third battle against Sahib. Then Tantia Tope began to act in leader in Bithur. The company forces from Allahabad advanced towards Cawnpore. Two forces sent by Nana Sahib were defeated. After the defeat the Britishers were hungry. British forces attacked Bithur with cannons. Mangal Pandey A soldier who played a key part in events immediately preceding the out break of the Indian Rebellion 1857-The soldier is Mangal Pandey. He was a soldier in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry regiment of the British East India company. Mangal Pandey was born in July 1827 in Nagwa. He had joined Bengal army in 1849. In March 1857 Mangal Pandey was a private soldier in the 5th company of the 34th Bengal Native Infantry. On March -1857 Pandey was pacing in front of the regiments guard room by the parade ground armed with a loaded gun calling upon the men to rebel and threatening to shoot first European. Begum Zeenat Mahal Begum Zeenat Mahal was the empress who ruled the Moghul Empire on behalf of the emperor Bahadur Shah Jafar. She was his favorite wife. She was born in 1823. She was also a freedom fighter against Britishers. Zeenat Mahal married Bahadur Shah Jafar at Delhi on 19 November 1840.She greatly influenced the emperor and after the death of the crown prince Mirza Dara Bakht. She was suspected of poisoning the British resident in Delhi in 1853 for medding too much in palace affairs. During the Indian Rebellion of 1857 she kept son out of contact with rebels in an attempt to secure the throne for heir. With the British victory the emperors two other sons were shot for supporting rebels however her son did not become heir.  In 1858 her husband was deposed by the British bringing the Moghul Empire to an end and she was exiled to Rangoon with her husband. Begum Hazrat Mahal Begum Hazrat Mahal was a great Indian freedom fighter who played a major role during Indias first war of Independence. Behind Begum Hazrat Mahals graceful nature and physical charm lay the qualities of a strong leader and an adroit strategist which were strongly witnessed through her contributions to Indias first struggle for independence against the British. She was born in 1820-Faizabade- Awadh. She was wife of Nawab Wazid Ali Shah. She was also known as Begum of Awadh. Nanasaheb Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao also known as Nanasaheb Peshwa was the peshwa of Maratha empire. Maratha power in India reached its peak under his reign. During Balaji Raos tenure the Maratha territory reached its zenith. Balaji Rao was born in the Bhat family to Peshwa Baji Rao on 8 December 1720 at Pune. After Baji Rao died in April 1740 Chattrapati Sahu appointed 19 year old Balaji as the Peshwa in August 1740. He was married Gobika bai. In early years of Balaji Raos tenure Raghoji Bhonsle helped extend Maratha influence in South and East India. His mission was to help Pratap Singh of Thanjavur a royal of the Bhonsle clan. Rana Pratap Singh Rana Pratap Singh was a ruler of Mewar a region in north. He belonged to the Sisoda clan of Rajputs in popular Indian culture. He was born in Rajput family. He was born to Udai Singh and Jawante Bai. He was married Ajabde Punwar of Bijolia. Pratap Singh was crowned king in 1572. Mughals  emperor demanded Pratap to obey rules But Pratap Singh Rana refused to all envoys. The war began with Mughals. Siraj ud -Daulah Siraj ud -Daulah aws the last Independent Nawab of Bengal. The end of his reign marked the start of British East India company rule over Bengal and later almost of the Indian sub continent. Siraj was born to Zain ud -Din Ahmed khan and Amina Begam in 1733. He was raised the Nawab palace with all necessary education and training suitable for for a future Nawab. Young Siraj was regarded as the fortune child of the family. Babu Kunwar Singh Babu Kunwar Singh was royal rebellion in our Indian history against Britishers. First war of independence in 1857 Babu Kunwar Singh actually led a select band of armed soldiers against troops under the command of British East India Company. He was the first organizer of the fight against the British in Bihar. Babu Kunwar Singh was born on November 1777 in Jagdispur -Bihar. His parents Maharaja Shahabzada Singh and Maharani Pancharatnam Devi. He belonged to the Ujjainia Rajput clan. He married the daughter of Raja Fateh Narein Singh. Kunwar Singh led the Indian rebellion of 1857 in Bihar. He was nearly eighty and in falling health when he was called upon to take up arms. Lal Bahadur Shastri Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second prime minister of republic and a leader of the Indian National Congress party. Shastri was born in Ramnagar -Varanasi on 2nd October 1904. His father Sharada Prasad Srivastava and his mother Ramdulari Devi. Shastri took a deep interest in the freedom struggle and began to study its history and the works of several of its noted personalities including those of Swamy Vivekananda,Gandhiji and Anni Besant. Gandhi and Madan Mohan Malaviya are his inspirations. In 1925 he was given the title Shastri. The title was bachelors degree awarded by his college Vidyapith but it stuck as part of his name.
